WHO are also looking for more effective methods of distributing the next edition of the Model Formulary and one way which is being looked at is by having it available to download as a phone application. Currently the British National Formulary and the British National Formulary for Children are available for free downloads for United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS) staff and available for a fee non UK NHS staff, please see this page -http://www.nice.org.uk/newsroom/news/FreeBNFPrescribingAppLaunches.jsp. The National Formulary of India is also available in this format.
Funding support will be vital for WHO to take this forward.
