This series of seminars was organized by Prof Helena Lutéscia Luna Coelho (MeMeCri’s Research Group and the Drug Utilisation Research Group for Latin America - DURG-La) together with Sara Arenas-Lopez, Consultant Pharmacist-GRIP for the Scientific Contribution to programme design and delivery of courses. The “Sociedade Brasileira de Farmácia Hospitalar”, (SBRAFH), the Federal University of Ceará and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro supported the courses. GRiP presented at 54th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR)
Prof. Adolfo Valls-i-Soler of the Basque Foundation for Health Research and Innovation delivered a presentation on European Neonatal Networks, including GRiP, at the 54th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR), which was held in Porto, Portugal, from 11th to 14th October 2013.

5th conference of the European Paediatric Formulation Initiative (EuPFI)
The 5th conference of the European Paediatric Formulation Initiative (EuPFI), titled "Formulating Better Medicines for Children - Meeting the Needs of the Children" presented some new elements to make the event even more interactive. This year there were two preconference workshops focusing on "Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacology" and "Paediatric Regulatory Framework".
Furthermore, there were sessions called "Innovation Show Case" and "Case Studies/PIPs lessons learned" where well known companies, such as Novartis, Glatt, Colorcon, Losan, O4CP and Janssen created the link to the praxis.

Foundation in paedriatic pharmaceutical care
The Evelina Children's Hospital hosted a short course offered by the School of Biomedical Sciences of King's College London. The course, scheduled for on 11th to 14th October 2012, was named "Foundation in paediatric pharmaceutical care" and sought to provide an introduction to paediatric pharmaceutical care. The course consisted of lectures, workshops and practical patients' review on the hospital wards. For further information on the course, click here.

Medicines for children: improvement through innovation
Dr. Mark Turner of the University of Liverpool, co-leader or WPs 7 and 8, and Dr. Catherine Tuleu, leader of WP5, participated as workshop leaders in the Medicines for Children conference, scheduled for 21st-22nd June this year.
The conference was hosted by the University College London (UCL) School of Pharmacy in London, and represents a key event for the paediatric pharmacology research community in Europe and worldwide. Dr. Turner led a workshop on “How to write a Paediatric Investigation Plan”, and Dr. Tuleu discussed “Age Appropriate Formulations”. You can download a programme of the event here.
